Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. This is owing to the fact that the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for decades. Guests from each of the surrounding states load up in autos and head over to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Native bands located in Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today operate ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. computerized games like slots were not permitted, because they’re believed to contribute to gambling problems more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have altered to allow for gigantic Native gambling gambling halls. You will now see Native gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not allowed in the Indian gambling dens as of yet, but this is just a matter of time. No one can authority what having other games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
